My wife will be going off of birth control in the next couple of months to start trying for a kid.

What things can I do to ensure my sperm are healthy and strong?

You can start by going to the doctor and having your sperm evaluated, so you don't waste time. Imagine if you find out years from now that it's your fault because you have low sperm count or whatever, and could already have had a kid if you skipped the bullshit and just did in-vitro.

She needs to go to the doctor as well and make sure she's in good health, and get on the appropriate vitamin/diet regimen to promote fertility.

Seconding having you both go see a doctor, like a heredity specialist to make sure you both are recessive carriers of any diseases.

A professional will better be able to tell you about sperm health than us.

Off the top of my head, all I can think of is don't wear tight underwear or pants. Don't subject yourself to extreme heat or cold.

other than sperm, wait a few months... well, many months, till you are both sure that birth control pills are really out of her system and her hormones are back to normal. use some non-hormonal contraceptive in the meantime or something.

it's called in-vitro fertilization and it does not always work. it can take two, three, four, maybe 10 or more tries for an egg to take, depending on many factors. It took my cousin 3 tries and between 15-20 grand.

Zinc and Vit c is all my partner used.
I was overweight and ruled my bmi to respectable level, got pregnant in 4 months. I was on implant for 5 and a half years and they say you can take up to 12 months after coming off birth control

But it's not really down to you.
Make sure she's not stressing every month
Do NOT go by ovulation times and temperatures,
Best thing to do is have sex as much as you can and enjoy yourselves doing it. If she's fucking to get pregnant it's more likely she won't,
It wasn't until I said we'll stop trying until after I come back from Paris (girls holiday)
Got pregnant that month.
Just relax and enjoy the increased sex drive

I guess I should point out that when I say "we're trying for a kid," I think "we're going to stop trying to not have a kid" is probably more accurate to what we'll be doing.

It's my due date today actually and not having any movement to tell me I could be going in to labour

If I may offer some advice for when it does happen. You don't have to take it
But as she gets to 35 weeks, she will get bored, uncomfortable and not so much stress, but, short tempered. It's very hard thus late in pregnancy, every pain or twinge could be labour. Don't let her get wound up.
But best of luck to both of you, the minute you find out is an amazing feeling

Limit sex to you cumming once a day to ensure each shot has a reasonable number of swimmers.

Most importantly, don't wear tight shorts for long periods. Your nuts only make healthy sperm in a narrow band of temperature. They need to be able to regulate their temperature by tightening and loosening. Preventing that degrades quantity and quality.

Both. Bad quality sperm usually can't even make it to the egg, but some malformed sperm can and cause problems in the child.

This is why increased paternal age is linked with disorders such as autism and schizophrenia. With age, the structures that make sperm become denatured, like how the same happens with a woman's eggs.
