i have a 7 month old crate trained doggy. He does well in his crate if he was excercised enough beforehand. However, i want to increase his moving space during the day, by letting him out of the crate to the whole apartment. However when i leave, and he is not crated, he starts crying, and won't really stop.
Should the same approach be used as with the crate training, or i am better of just crating him anyways?
Not particularly urgent. It's one of my dad's plants. He got it as a gift so he doesn't actually know what it is and I'm curious. I've already tried googling and got nothing.
>Westerners >Keep dogs as pets >Eat chickens "We're so good!"
>Asians >Keep chickens as pets >Eat dogs "WAH! SO EVIL!"
Why are dog and cat fags the most easily triggered people? You also get more emotional than even women when someone talks shit about your precious pets.
So deluded. Tbh the vast majority of dogs should be euthanized.
My dog is at least 12. I got him in like 2009 and he was at least 6 then. Impeccably trained, could sit, speak, play dead, and was always house trained. We thought he'd be happy after us having lived in an apartment for 2 years for him to have a yard again, and unlimited outside access. Instead, he's pissed in the house every single night while we sleep since he's been here (He was staying with my mom while we moved, no problems there), barring the nights I've made him sleep outside/in the garage. He always does it while we sleep. I know he's doing it because he's somehow unhappy. When we had a house with a big yard and a doggy door we never had this problem, even when we lived in apartments and had to walk him 3-5 times a day we didn't have this problem. His bro passed away last December, and we had our second baby in April (he is not a big fan of the kids, although he is begrudgingly protective), and admittedly, we haven't had quite as much time for him, but I thought once we got into the house he would finally be happy again. I brought up to my husband maybe letting him live with my mom and dad. They have a yard, and a nice bitch he's fond of. My husband accused me of trying to get rid of him, but I think he's just not a fan of our breeder lifestyle. He was a lot happier before we had kids. My husband thinks it's mean to make him sleep in his bed in the garage, but I'm tire of stepping in a piss puddle in my home every morning. Do you guys have any advice? My kids don't mess with him, but I'm sure he's very aware that they've taken a lot of the focus of the household.
I just saw my 3 months old golden female puppy hump my uncle's 3 years old golden female dog. They hadn't seen each other in days and were playing pretty excitedly. Then the puppy climbed on the older dog's back and humped her. Not a minute later she put tried to climb on her head and hump it.
What do I do if she does it again? I didn't think I'd have to deal with this shit so early.
I just rescued a 3-4 year old Chihuahua/Pug mix about a month ago, and there are still a lot of issues with her and my 2 year old pug. She was spayed shortly before we got her so I'm not sure if it's a hormonal thing or a bad past thing.
She is very food aggressive. I accidentally dropped a bag of treats, and when I went to get them she placed her entire body over them and growled viciously at me. I had to cover her with a towel and yank her away with it to get the treats without getting bitten. She reacts similarly with bones and hoards them all, even if she has one she'll steal the pug's. She also acts protective over dog food. When I go to feed her a treat, she takes a treat so quickly/harshly she often bites my fingers.
Pic not her, but looks like her. Anyone have any experience with this?
Missed the last one. Let's have a rat general thread!
Optional questions for anons; >Plastic or iron cages? >What kinds of tricks have you taught your rats? >Have you ever made a toy/decoration/house for your rats? (If yes, post them!) >What is the most amount of rats that you've owned at once?
I also have some seperate questions regarding pic related. I've been interested in buying rats for some time now; I still have a lot of researching to do before I make up my mind, but it looks like it may well happen in the future. I noticed that this rat's ears are very red. Is this normal? Perhaps it was the lighting of the photo.. If I do go through with it, he will be bought alongside his brother- the owner had developed an allergy and wants to sell them, despite them being only 4 months old (owner did not list weight).
Is it an absolute dealbreaker if I find out that they were bought from a commerical pet shop? The owner listed them as "tame, clever and very cuddly", so there's a small chance that they may not be at that age.
I'm also planning on making a 30-40cm wide 'house' for them to go inside the cage (it's a large cage) out of wood; three walls with two holes on the sides, and a hanging drape to cover the front. I've read that wooden bedding causes respiratory problems, but is wooden furniture okay? Also, should the window be a circle or a square shape? Circle would be harder to do, but I'm worried if they might have a higher chance of getting stuck in a square-shaped hole as they grow bigger.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my blatant amateur-ness. I hope to become a proud owner of two rat brothers soon.
