I love when people think that are snakes are Satans cretins and will strangle a child to death.
Snakes aren't just going to sit on your face and strangle you. The only time I've been bitten by my snakes was dealing with mice and forgetting to wash my hands and dealing with snakes. The exception few garters and snakes I have that are assholes, but total puppy dogs when they get out of the enclosure. All snakes want to do is hide. In the incident of that African Rock Python (the snake that killed the child) that snake was owned by some edgy pleb, and also the other boys father played a huge part in that. Saving his own son and not even helping the other child.
I'm not saying as a snake owner, you shouldn't take precaution. But, the chance of that sort of thing happening is so little.
>>1987725Leave hides and heat mats on floor. Leave a mouse under a hide in every room (it sucks, but it'll help). Check the room his enclosure was cm by cm. Tell your neighbors. Ensure them it's harmless and if they find it you'll come get it even reward them so they don't kill it on you. Check every tight spot. Shoes, drawers, couches, bed frames, computers (really), mine usually but themselves under the tank. If you have heating coils or rads a long the wall, inspect those. Set out water dishes so he doesn't dehydrate. Wait. I lost a ball python for a week. Found her in a wall when I recorded my satellite. I've heard of people finding snakes even up to 9months after they lose it (setting out food, and water)
