My platty isn't feeling so well. Just noticed how skinny she looks. She is resting on the substrate and swimming sporadically. What's wrong /an/?

Are there any resources that explain the basic steps and processes for breeding dogs, and that detail the potential hazards of doing it improperly?

My dad seems to think he can just hire a stud and leave the pups in the back yard 24/7 until they're old enough to sell. I'd like to try and dissuade him, even if it isn't likely to work.

He has two British Spaniels.

I know this isn't a question board but I really needed help. I bought a parakeet yesterday only to come home and find out he has no nails, like at all. He's smaller compared to my other ones and I was wondering if it's because he's young, and will the nails grow? (His feet look something like this)

I've got a question about my cats, /an/.

I've got two rescues, both brother and sister that I got when they were kittens. When they were younger they would both lay on either side of me, or on top of me. Very loving cats. They'd play with me and do all sorts of stuff. Now they're both a year old and they don't want to have anything to do with me. I feed them, clean their litter boxes out regularly, and try to play with them.

They'll play with my brother and mom no problem. The cats will even hop up and curl up next to them. But they kinda just avoid me most of the time. The brother will always hang out in the same room, but if I want to pet him if he's not already laying down, he just runs. He'll run two feet and lay down and stare at me. As if he's taunting me. They don't play with their little fishing poles, toys or laser unless someone other than me is the one doing all the work. How do I make my cats love me? The whole reason I got them was to fill the void my last cat left.

Pic related, my last cat, Keith.

Hey. I'm planning on adopting a baby female kitty that I have been working with at the clinic I'm doing my internship. Thing is, I never owned a cat, so I would appreciate any tips you might give me. Oh and name ideas, especially cat related puns.
Awful ones I've thought up: Pawincess, Impawssiblus, Clawtek, Lady Pawticus.

Long haired dogs: how can people be bothered with all the extra work? Just training, walking and having fun with he dog consumes a lot of time already.

I'm going to be getting an exo terra large x-tall in the near future (36 x 18 x 36), and I want to make it a naturalistic vivarium. I have experience with that sort of thing, as well as with a variety of reptiles and amphibians. What are some inhabitants that could do well in one of those? I was thinking some D. Tinctorius azureus, as I've kept them before, but I also have a 40 gallon long aquarium (48 x 12 x 12) that I think would be more suited to them, so I'm not sure that they'd be the best option for the exo-terra if there's other cool stuff that'd be happy in there.

Anyone have any ideas what I can put in there? What would you put in there? If anyone is more comfortable with gallons as a measurement of size, it is about a 100 gallon terrarium.

Ideas for a doghouse

I'm thinking about building a dog house for my mom. She has 4 dogs, two miniature pinchers, and 2 english bulldogs. I thought about making this thread on /diy/ but I don't really need any help with the building aspect of it, I'm already a pretty experienced builder.

My biggest concern is making something the dogs will actually use. I'm just looking for ideas. What do dogs like? Should it have windows? My mom keeps the dogs in her house almost all the time and the whole house smells pretty bad. She doesn't want to let them outside because shes afraid they will "get cold" even when it's like 65 outside. So I want to make something that will make the dogs want to spend more time outside than inside, and I'm going to make the whole thing look cozy to keep her happy.
