>>1987713>plantainIt depends what OP means by this, plantain also refers to a weed which is very good tortoise food. If they mean the banana-like thing then obviously cut it out.
>>1987677That diet is okay, but it can be improved. You can have a much bigger variety of weeds in there, I'd suggest buying your tortoise weed seeds from amazon and growing your own for the winter.
In the summer my torts diet is something like this
>sow thistle>plantain (weed)>nipplewort>cat's ear>bristly oxtongue>hawkbit>sedum>roseThese are all easy weeds to identify, this website should help and will also show other things you can and can't feed.
http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/site/plants_19.asp?thissection=6If I'm ever running low on weeds for whatever reason Florette Crispy Salad is a bag salad mix you can get from a supermarket where everything inside is good for tortoises. Especially the lamb's lettuce. Now days I tend to just buy bags of lambs lettuce and plop that in her table along with the live growing weeds.
Also, I'd suggest replacing that timothy hay substrate with topsoil or coconut fibre or anything else that will hold moisture better since humidity is a BIG factor in pyramiding, potentially more than diet.
