I bought some grass for my cat. I'm not a gardener and don't know the slightest thing about caring for plants, but I do know it was pretty badly root bound (slightly less severely than pic related). I spent a while gently loosening and untangling the roots before transplanting it into a container roughly the size of a shoe box but I don't know if I did it well enough. The roots on the outside/bottom of what was the 'ball' are completely free, with inner roots being fairly loose and easy enough to move around, but not untangled. I asked some family that gardens casually if they thought it was good enough, and they said it was, but I'm still not sure. Should I go back and completely loosen the roots or is it not being a tight ball of roots good enough?
