>Keep your pets indoors
-do not leave them out in the back yard or front yard
-kids might try to feed them candy
-people might try to harm them

>keep Jack-o-Lanterns out of reach
-your dog/cat might knock it over or try to eat it

>If you pet doesn't want to wear a costume, do not make them wear a costume
-costumes should not inhibit movement, vision, breathing

>make sure that your pets won't be able to run out the front door when you are passing out candy for treat-or-treaters
-also make sure that any candy is out of reach of your pets

>make sure your pets won't be able to get harmed by Halloween decorations (choking on web, chewing on wires, injured by animations, etc)

>make sure your pets are wearing their IDs in case they do somehow escape the house

>make sure your pets have a stress free zone away from strangers, loud noises, and flashy lights
-you might just want to have someone hang out in the porch or garage to pass out candy to keep kids from knocking on your door and ringing the doorbell . this is also a good way to make sure your house doesn't get vandalized
