>>1982709a dingo is not a dog, it's a wild cousin of the dog with a completely different species and different DNA that lacks most of the benefits of dogs.
It's a misbelief that since they look similar to humans, they must also be safe pets.
Wolves and dingos and other non-domesticated species are unreliable and dangerous to own.
Even two very related species can have vastly different behavior, look at chimpanzees versus bonobos (the only two species of human-like great apes of pan genus)
The congo river split up the pre-chimps into two groups, and now we have war-like violent chimpanzees that go hunting, use spears to stab monkeys to death and eat them, kill other chimps in battles, etc. and bonobos which are basically pacifists who spend all day eating, grooming, humping (even in weird kinky poses unheard of in other apes such as missionary position, or the much more tame oral sex, they'll also french kiss)
Dingos weren't just separated from grey wolves by a river, but by huge stretches of water, and they never became the domesticated dogs we know as pets.
