Was driving along a bush track with my mum and came across a shingleback on the track.

I've never seen one before and didn't know they lived in that part of NSW (Australia) so we both got out and had a look. The fat little bastard had a gf with him!

I drove the landcruiser way around them so they wouldn't be disturbed.

Most overrated animal around these parts. They're not even endangered any more. They're not cute, boring at best and scratchie and mean at worst.

Still mad I was on a busy highway - would have loved to have taken some photos. Deer are stupid common in Scotland, first time seeing white deer however.

Deer-walked around a bend in the road and came face to face with a HUGE (talking bambies dad, king of the deer) buck. He just stared me down as his does crossed the road and then he wandered off after them.

A mountain lion stalking a deer on a hillside

All kinds of birds, quail, lizards, bugs, and more than my fair share of jack rabbits. And turkey.

Live east of San Diego in the mountains. I see bobcat, deer, turkeys,coyotes, raccoons, opossum and foxes regularly. Plenty of birds as well, almost hit a golden eagle that jumped out of the bushes in front of me last week. I saw a long tailed weasel once in Cuyamaca, that was pretty cool too.

And I mean EVERYWHERE. Even in the house. We don't have a roach problem because of the house geckos. Unfortunately, this means we come across desiccated gecko corpses whenever we do a thorough cleaning, because the poor little guys shrivel up if they can't get to water.
I also had a baby snake sunning itself right outside my car door one morning. Fun times.

They arent exactly Dolphins, but close relatives. The Harbor Porpoise. We also have Dall's Porpoise's, which look like mini Orca, and love playing in the waves.

Also if you are still in the Sound area, you should go to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in the late spring. The tree bank along the river in the south side of the park is a rookery (nesting site) for Great Blue Heron. You can see as many as 50 of them up in those trees. The ground beneath the nesting sites will literally be pure white from all the bird shit from all those massive birds. There will usually be a few fishing along the shore too (and the occasional Harbor seal out fishing)

I work on the waterfront and sometimes on a boat (in California). I've seen lots of cool marine life at work, tons of wild dolphins, blue whales, grey whales, fin whales, sea lions, harbor seals. I know there are humpbacks out here sometimes but I have yet to see any. On a smaller scale there are lots of cool invertebrates like octopuses and pretty nudibranchs. Leopard sharks, guitarfish, round rays, and bat rays are common sightings as well. I like sea creatures.

From the uk, mostly South Wales and Kent.
In one 3mile walk in the wye valley looking for mushrooms I saw just about everything the uk has to offer, firstly as I left the cottage a pair of hedgehogs ran scared from the front porch, once on the trail I saw some rabbits and then out of the hedge flew a pheasant, but by the sounds of it there was a fox in pursuit. Then some sort of jump jet flew brought the valley and following it came three deer, all of which leapt across my path within a few metres. After collecting some mushrooms (squatting under a bushy tree for a while) as I stood up again I frightened off a buzzard. On the way back to the cottage I saw a kestrel hovering.
In the same area but not the same time I've also seen boar, red kites and badgers.

I live there too. A few weeks age I had a giant pod of harbor porpoises check me out while rowing around. A few surfaced right next to me and then went back to their business and kept far away. There were so many at one point, the sound of them breaching was pretty much constant. They are surprisingly small little guys.
