Right and wrong way to punish an animal?

One of my cats just attacked the other. I grabbed him by the neck with my hand all the way around and carried him downstairs and then sprayed him with this behavior corrective spray. Is it too harsh to grab them by the neck when they do something wrong?

As a matter of fact she did, probably multiple times, not that I'm following her. But if you want proof, watch the democratic debate 2015, and you'll see when she's asked like how'd she be different from Obama or something like that, and she says well, it's obvious since I would be the first female president, and how that would be quite a change from the usual presidents.
That's as good as saying well, uh,I have a vagina, vote for me folks.
