Martial art vs personal defense?

Ive been doing Bjj for 4 years.

Now im a good blue belt..

I used to love this sport.. But now ive been thinking about move on other more effective martial art or sport combate style.

I think the modern Bjj sucks... Too muchos effort in to competition and sports aspect...

I dont like to train it anymore..

What the fuck its happen with martial arts.. Every martial art is destiny to become an sport?

Ive lostthe faith in martial arts.. Because today are not longer good schools that focus on personal defense..

Krav maga in my town is shit, nowadys know how to fight, poor grapling and poor striking....

Also i think uniforms.sucks... In the street never go out with your gi

Also i think the mental aspect and bites, kick the groins are also missed..

Hello /asp/. Long story short, I'm planning to travel around the world to pick up various martial arts and such. I already train Muay Thai, BJJ and a little wrestling but want to experience other styles.

So I'm thinking:
- Start in UK
- Savate in France
-Kickboxing in Holland
-SAMBO in Russia
- Wrestling in Mongolia
- Sanda/Wing Chun in China
- Aikido/Karate/Judo in Grorious Nippon
- FMA in the Philippines
- Muay Thai in Thailand
- Krav Maga/military combatives in Israel

And then finally back to England. So, /asp/? Thoughts? Tips? Which countries would you guys visit? Have any of you been abroad to train? Any tips?

Thanks. Also general international training thread, I guess.

When Judo was invented, was it ever invented with no-gi applications in mind? Was it ever intended that it be used without a gi, or was it meant to be inseparable from the gi?

Where the fuck do you even find a catch wrestling gym? Are they legit? I ask because I like the stand up game in wrestling and BJJ seems to neglect it heavily. I wonder if there's any hope out there. Judo is cool but the ban on leg attacks is kinda lame. Anyone have experience with Catch?
