Anything under about $50 will be fine for very casual use, but the padding will wear quickly from hitting the bag and will be useless for sparring.
Bag gloves and sparring gloves are two different types and the padding will be different. Your best bet is to buy a pair of "training" gloves from one of the major sites (everlast, title, ringside), but be prepared to spend $50-70 to get something that isn't awful. They will also definitely need to be 16oz.
