Now those "wrist-originated cuts" would of course be nothing to spurn at, against flesh, they would hardly be less dangerous than most other blows. The lightness of the shinai are most certainly the reason of this types of cuts, cutting only with wrist-rotation with a 1,2kg sword isn't impossible, but it would be much more tiring.
Anyway, your points all sound perfectly fine to me. English ain't my native language, sometimes, I don't put in words what I've been thinking to correctly.
