>>747370After Lyoto fought Shogun he cut down to middle weight, shortly after and the way he fought at lighter weights is vastly different then the way he fought at LHW.
2 major differences from what i've observed.
a) he was faster/explosive with his darting footwork for the MWs which was great for him
b)for him he was more aggressive and engaged his opponents more, which was good and bad. he fought more aggressively then he did at LHW, however what happen with each time he darted in he got diminishing returns. Each volly, he would slow down and become less explosive and quick. From either acrewing to much damage being so aggressive and not being able to keep the pace up.
What happen then would him getting slogged through, defending and engaging his opponent to a pseudo draw with each time he engaged his opponent.
He's still elite, but he's doing the smart thing right now and assessing where he belongs (LHW, or MW) and reinventing his tactics. I think he has in him at least one last good run for the belt before he probably should retire.
