Thinking of getting into boxing hardcore, like compete and try to go pro.

Are there any disadvantages of having long arms in boxing? They got good jab and crosses but how are their hooks and uppercuts?

this is why you dont go pro.
its not worth it.

personally i quite like the pain. and pushing myself to endure.
but i will never go pro.
amateur is fine though.

its not the headgear that stops it (headgear does NOT prevent dementia pugilistica, but it does prevent cuts).
what you have to understand is the scoring system.

you get pts for clean shots that arent blocked, meaning hitting faster is better than hitting harder.

but in pro, since the rounds go for so long, hitting harder is a strategy once the faster guy tires out, netting you a win despite having a lower amount of punches that connected correctly.

hence going amateur is fine.

dont worry about body type either, you'll settle into a niche.
