This is the correct answer. When in doubt, express substraction as + (negative number) and division as fraction. It's 24 over (48 over 30) which is 24 * 30 over 48 which is 15. Do you people even math?

I am allmost certain that Google uses some programming languages precedence rules, which are not necessarily correct but serve more to make results more predictable. The right answer is 24 over (48 over 30) which is 24 * 30 over 48 which is 15

if you were to always multiply first and THEN divide, then wouldn't you always add everything up and THEN subtract? (hint: no)

Explanation:
24 divided by 4 is 6
5+7=12 x 6=72
3 x 10= 30
72 divided by 30 is 2.4

Your calculator assumes you know what you are doing, which you do not. It just processes from left to right, assuming you allready reordered correctly. If you use a Calculator that only uses fractions, you will see that 24 / (48 / 30) is 15. You guys have obviously all not really understood the rules for division. The standard way of writing division is only confusing everyone, which is why I have not seen a single division written like that in more than 2 years. I have not seen a single mathematical paper that does not use fractions, as they are tenfold more understandable. In fact, I have not seen a single division not expressed as fraction since 8th grade, but I can't really blame you amerifags for your bad education system

when precedence is equal, go from left to right, as if you were reading it as a sentence in a book, i'm absolutely baffled that this doesn't come naturally for some

if you had three divisions lined up like so:

12/2/3, then you'd also go from left to right, i'm sure you were at least taught that

Since you can't even solve the first part, there's no point continuing on with a wrong answer.

when you are writing a division like that (wether it's / or : (how I learned it)) you are saying you are building a fraction from the left atom of same or higher precedence over the right one. Since division is just multiplication with the inverse, it has same precedence to multiplication. So basically / means (everything from the last add/subtract to /) over (everything untill the next add/substract). Thus, it's 24 over (48 over 30).

Because things are not explicitly stated with parenthesis we do operations of multiplication and division left to right because they hold the same level operation.

I think we can all agree the first step would be to solve for the parenthesis, so the problem becomes:

24/4*13/3*10

Because we have both multiplication and division in the same problem we simply do it left to right. You can think of the problem becoming:

(((24/4)13)/3)10

So. 24/4=6*13=78/3=26*10=260

OP didn't put parenthesis, therefore it's not a fraction, just a simple division

it's an easy mistake to make and it will fuck up your order of operations in some cases, so be mindful
