Dewars scotch after a tough day of work. Personal preference though, but I prefer a punch more than a cutter. A smaller, more precise hole to draw from instead of deep throating your cigar. As for a lighter, DO NOT use a lighter such as a zippo. The fuel a zippo uses will seep into the cigar and ruin the flavor. Use only a butane lighter or a match. You say its your first cigar, so i hope you enjoy it. If that certain brand winds up being to strong or too weak, a good.brand to start off with is Acid.
