He was a great character and by the time they got to the prison the producers realized that they made a character that is supposed to die into the only consistently well scripted character. After the prison his position on the show was clearly being reduced to allow Daryl, a comic book non-existent, to grow and give the producers wiggle room if they decided to kill him.
At this point he doesn't matter much as a character, I wouldn't be surprised if he dies soon enough. However, he absolutely didn't die last episode. They gave cunt bitch 1337 sn1p3r bitch like 10 solid minutes of "Omg hold me, I'm dying." They wouldn't kill off Glenn in a poorly framed and rushed scene.
