TWD is a show that heavily relies on character building so that you, you know, give a damn when people die.
So you're gonna have to slog through it from the beginning.

It's short but sweet. Has some awkward moments, but gives you a general idea of the type of show this is.
>Season 2
This is the real slog. A lot of very slow episodes. Most of the character building for Glenn, Carol, Daryl, and Carl happens here.
>Season 3 and 4
This is where all the action shit happens when the main cast go to war against a rival group
>Season 5 and 6
This is where the show gets grittier and more desperate, and the surviving cast are shown to be teetering on the villainous side of things, after being warped by the apocalypse.
