Is there money in growing weed once it becomes legal in my state, anon?

It's probably going to happen next november. I own a house with about 700 square feet i could turn into a grow room, and then about a half acre out back I could potentially use for greenhouses. I have about $10,000 I could invest, and could probably get friends to match that if it makes financial sense.

Worth it or nah? Please don't be a faggot and just answer the question.

Knowing dealers myself in the past, I know their biggest complaint wasn't the cops; it was white market legalization.

i imagine startup costs could end up being expensive, as you probably won't be able to make high quality stuff without proper equipment. I see the possibilities for an individual to lie in homemade edibles or custom strains, which would take significant research to make. although it's possible just selling standard stuff would be enough to get people who don't want to pay the exorbitant taxes on it. you could offer delivery service and make it real grey-market professional

Do you have any experience growing weed? On a page scale?

Do you have any experience growing anything on a large scale?

Do you have any experience selling weed? In large amounts? Do you have a structure in place to sell your product?

Basically, if you aren't already a seasoned grower, you aren't going to make any money. You can't make any money selling supplies either because you have no knowledge of the products.

Your best bet would be to lease your land and building to an experienced grower.

Source- MMJ grower in Colorado with 10+ years xperience growing indoors and out.

This guy is right. In addition, if your state fucks up how they legalize it, like WA did, there is little hope. Weed here sells for 5-10 per gram. In recreation shops, it can sell for 10-15. You need licenses to be able to grow or sell legally and there is a 50% excise tax on growers selling it to sellers and a 50% excise tax on sellers selling it to the recreational consumer. This means that from growers cost to sale, you must account for 50% of your income being taken twice, and the price still being approximately 10-15 per gram.

Pretty hopeless unless you're a kickass weed grower and you have the 50k to get it started. I've met many people who came here when the law changed and still haven't started their grow-ops.

What makes or breaks a grower is not the strain used. Strains come and go. I don't know of a single big grower that has just one strain.

What makes a successful grower is experience, infrastructure, and good business sense. Both in growing and in selling.

I dont want to upset you but it you have never grown a weed there is no possibility to grown it for Medical purposes in at least one year. I highly doubt if you will ever pass the tests to sell it legaly. For illegal activities after like 4 or 5 succesul grows you will be able to produce good street product.

OP, maybe go to Arcview or other conferences and get lucky talking to an investor? That's the only way I can see it happening if you have no prior experience

Everything is lab tested for quality. If you want to put it on the shelves of a medical dispensary, then it has to pass whatever the standard is.

I have no idea what it entails but I live in NV where medical is just starting to get off the ground. They were allowing home growers to sell the first batches since grow ops weren't in harvest yet. Apparently most failed the lab test.

I realize this is a pound me in the ass federal offense, but I wonder if there would be any money to be made. People wouldn't bat an eye if you had the guise of legal production, you'd just have to worry about distribution.

growing is a hybrid of art and science, meaning its going to take a lot of trial and error to get a high quality product people want to buy.

don't grow in your house. you are asking to get robbed. if people know you have 20K worth of produce growing in your backyard what is stopping them from ransacking the place at gunpoint?

And yet that doesn't happen often. If someone is going to rob you they will wait until you aren't home. Why? Because if they are stealing weed, then they have been watching you for a while. They know when you are getting ready to harvest and will strike when the weed is ready. They will cut down whole plants and remove them. That takes time.
If they are after money they will still wait until you aren't home.

Ok, now you are pulling that out of your ass. Being from Kentucky, I have worked 'backer fields. I have also made moonshine. Both are easier to produce than high quality weed.
