UPDATE: Minimum wage for 45k Job

This is a follow up to a recent thread I posted. Background: I desperately offered to work for minimum wage and do extra shit jobs when being interviewed for a 45k a year administrative assistant job and got what I asked for. Even at minimum wage, I need the money but I'm basically a joke and living out a humiliating part of my life right now.

My question. I'm applying for new jobs right now. Really, my only relevant work experience comes from my current job. My boss knows I'm looking but said that he'd like to keep me here as long as he can because I do a lot and saves money having me do it.

I'm using him as a reference. Is that a good idea? He's aware of what I can do. But he also knows that I'll stay working for him at minimum wage while my peers make 45k or more.

Can he or will he sabotage me if he gets called by a potential employer? I should have asked a week ago. I've applied at a lot of places this week...

Also, most places want to know what my current pay is. Will that hurt my chances? Having to admit my pay makes me feel like a joke. ..
