You charge exorbitant prices for necessities when they become scarce.

Food, water, generators, building supplies, batteries, medicine, and anything else people need to survive.

Its temporary work but they pay the workers a premium, but most of the work is just planning and know how and knowing the fastest way to shuffle shit around and process garbage, and handle the human needs during the process.
A great side business add on is usually inventory liquidation.
They don't just work natural disasters but accidents of all kinds.

You could also invest in things like batteries (I live in Florida and I know for a fact Energizer made a killing after Andrew, Ivan, Charley, and Wilma), water (like Nestle), and other commodities that are usually stockpiled prior to events like these and bought during.

Anecdotal I know but I do recall reading an article where one woman was being paid $200 an hour (about 10yrs ago too) to scrape people off the road after car accidents.
