>>935650>>935657I've hired coders, have friends in web development, paid for freelance work, etc. I learned the basics myself but never wanted to make a career out of it.
The route most people take is:
- Codecademy HTML + CSS
- Mess around modifying websites CSS, making small pages and whatnot
- Codecademy Javascript
- Make a browser game or some other Javascript project
- Make a website (Paid if possible. Otherwise, personal/random)
- Learn how to use Linux, Github, etc.
Design Route:
- Make a personal portfolio site or an edgy web design company site. Can also make a Behance profile
- Freelance and make basic websites
- Apply somewhere as a front end dev if you're not happy with freelance life
Dev Route:
- Decide which back end language to learn (PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, node.js, etc)
- Learn through Codecademy or other sites where available
- Make some sort of website that shows your skill
- Freelance or apply somewhere as a back end dev
