Which language should I learn for the /biz/ world?

Which language would give me a competitive edge in the world of business? I am an undergraduate Finance major and I'm looking to pick up either Chinese (Mandarin) or Japanese. At first, I thought the obvious answer was Chinese mainly due to exports and the economy, as well as Chinese being more widely spoken, but I also am considering Japanese because I've seen many job listings in the business world that pay very well for someone who can speak/read/write in both languages. I feel like Japanese would be easier to learn than Chinese as Chinese has thousands of characters and I fear I will never be good enough at it for my Chinese skills to merit any value in business. What is /biz/'s opinion on this? Anyone have experience with this topic?
