Like the other anon said, an engineering degree can lead to many other jobs that are not actually engineering. When I was in school a statistic like 60% of engineers will eventually end up in non-technical or management roles rather than straight engineering design.
An engineering degree is proof that you are able to understand and apply knowledge in a logical and rational manner. This is incredibly useful in many different fields. As long as you have decent writing skills and are not an autist, you will be able to land a decent job.
