I know this isn't an advice website but I feel like a lot of people are in my same position and since many of you have already found your place and succeeded, I don't think it's too unreasonable.

I'm straight out of high school and honestly I have no idea what to do. I'm really in the same spot as I was at the beginning of high school with just a bit more knowledge.

So I could go into college and focus on programming/RE, there are a few companies that I think would maybe back me or at least give something to put on my resume because I love to mess around with security. I couldn't not go to college as a dependent young programmer.

I really want to start a business but I'm poor and inexperienced so that sounds like a plan for disaster. I could go to college and learn about business and start one, probably focusing on programming.

I really don't want to go to college but I'm not gonna try to be the next Bill Gates like all these people who never find success. Given either, what would income look like? I don't wanna work my ass off and be rich but I want to have a good retirement at least.

Would it ever be a good idea to move from the US to have a better chance? And lastly if this is a terrible place to ask all this and you're about to flame where would I find stuff like this out? HS didn't really help with much.
