What an interesting question. To answer your it, let's compare two irreconcilable points in order to see if you can run a "legitimate" business.
1. Companies typically account for potential liabilities (e.g. lawsuits, product recalls) by spreading these costs by increasing the cost of their products. So, when something bad happens, they will usually continue to operate without any huge hiccups since the costs have been spread out over the consumers.
2. THE GOLDEN RULE OF CRIME: On a long enough timeline, everyone gets caught. (Not to mention the fact that your are directly responsible for detrimentally affecting users' lives and your community).
What does this mean for you?
You probably won't get a civil lawsuit or product recall (though possible since an ODer's family may sue, or you'll be forced to replace a bunk batch). Instead, your liability will come in the form of arrest. If you try to spread this cost to your consumers, they will go to someone else. So you'll have to save to get a good lawyer/pay bond. (You absolutely do NOT want a public defender. They are bottom of the law school barrel and spend, say, an hour on your case). Now, the more developed your "enterprise," the higher your eventual costs will be in the form of lawyer fees and bail (funny how the government does that, right?). Once the inevitable happens, your enterprise can no longer operate. So, basically, everything you've made gets "taxed" by the legal system, and now you're fucked for any normal job.
Something Else to Think About. . .
Considering the fact that you are asking about this on a supposedly anonymous online message board (surprise! 4chan is linked to your Google account via the Captcha), I would say you have no clue what you would be getting yourself into. Moreover, the people who would really bear the brunt of your screw up would be your parents, when you call them sobbing from the police station.
