Generally speaking, most sources claim that civil and mechanical engineering avg. pay is around 50K pounds (UK).

Is the UK just a shitty place for (Civil and Mechanical) engineers or is this the case in most countries?

Also, is it true that many people who studied engineering end up in finance/business?
