My mother and myself want to relocate to Santa Fe New Mexico. She has a bachelors in Business and I have an associates degree, and am in business school.

How do you get hired for a job before moving to the city? Is it best to just send out online applications and do a Skype interview?

Better opportunities in Albuquerque and you can visit Santa Fe whenever you want.

I'm going to be moving soon across the country and when the time comes, I am going to ask if I can do my job remotely. The company has offices all over and other people have done it, so there's a chance I can do it.

When the time comes to move, maybe tell your Mom to have a chat with the boss and see if she can get transferred or something.

We're really interested in Santa Fe because indeed says there's 1,500 job listings there, and a TON of them are STATE JOBS. How hard is it to get hired for a government job?

We're coming from Chicago, and I find the job situation here to just be ridiculous. There's about 10,000,000 people crammed in here, with an unemployment rate of 8% and 40,000 job listings. On top of that, most of them are part-time or pay $10 an hour. Then if you DO get a job, it is so competitive in the workplace it gets very obnoxious.
