Investments count I guess. I have almost 50k working for me. It's nice to see how much money I put in the account versus what it's worth. Investing really is the ultimate hands off passive income stream these days with mutual funds and robo advisers ect. I'm also writing two ebooks although I've never published one before.

Almost the entirety of the app store is minimum wage or worse.
Spend 50 hours development+assets on something and earn a couple hundred dollars before it dies off.

The people on page 1 are raking in money, but they're not "The rich 1%" they're "the rich 0.00001%"

You could also own a piece of land where you can make enough food for your family and enough other resources which you could sell to get the other stuff you need. If you lived in an area where it's possible to make most of your energy with solar and wind power and maybe a small rapid which together would provide enough energy, you would be 100% set.
