My wife is a nurse and I'm an accountant. We are interested in opening our own home health care company. Can anyone give us some tips on getting started? We have some ideas but are hoping to gather more intel before going too much farther.

We want to provide in home care for individuals with different disabilities/needs and bill their insurance for it. We have a skeleton of our business plan but need more info to put it all together. We are mainly interested in what kind of paperwork hoops we need to jump through to get setup to receive payment.

can be done. main thing you're concerned about is wages and overhead. you can look wages online easy, but standard overhead rates might take some investigation.

other than that, your wife should be able to ask her school for what licensing requirements there are.

so you want to start a temp contracting firm for nurses to go visit people provide care on short term basis

tons of paperwork seems similar to computer and all other kinds of temp work

is there a market for these services ? need a bigger city obviously

how to protect against lawsuits ? I'm guessing malpractice insurance will be prohibitively expensive and this will completely nuke your business plan
