So, /biz/. I am 19 years old, and have been working 3 shit tier jobs for almost 2 years now. Long and short version is I tested out of high school when I was 17, got 3 awful jobs because nobody pays people like me (no experience, no useful skills) a good pay, so I took the next best thing, 3 awful jobs to make an equivalent of a decent pay. I've saved about 95% of it, and I have enough money to pay for just about any college that will accept me. My question is, what would be a good paying field to get into? I am an extremely quick learner and can do just about anything well with a little training. The only thing left to know is what to do. If you were given a fresh start, with the chance to get into any field you wished, where would you go? What would you do?

Well, programming and/or software engineering is pretty good if you can hack it, pun intended.

Computer Science. If I could get into any program, I'd go for Stanford CS. If you're some kind of savant and score perfect on your SAT, they might take you. Otherwise, just try to find the best CS school in your area.

OP here. Looking for something with an annual salary of $80,000+. I don't mind being a wage slave if it's enough to get by and buy some new toys every now and again

Eh, now I studied law. But if I had to do it again I would have taken a job a sysadmin, so I would have plenty of time left to do something on the side. I'm currently running a website and despite not earning a lot from it yet I have a lot more fun working for myself than slaving for a boss.

>>940332 You can get an 80k+/- with a trade, the only thing is that there's a lot of issues with trade school accreditation I hear. I know a guy who said that all his friends took Mike Rowe's advice, got trade jobs and moved to South Dakota and can't get jobs because companies don't recognize their accreditation, they prefer experience because of OSHAesque liabilities.

>>940332 Well for a starting salary that high, I would suggest Pharma. There is not much upward movement in that field (if at all), but you start out at around 70-80K and can advance into the low-mid 100K's. Not exactly a tough job either once you get it, but the schooling can be a drag (still not as bad as med school though).

>>940332 I got a full ride to a cheap state school, and worked part time to get by with other costs. It's four years (mechanical engineering) but now I make $80k at 23.

Pharma also pays well in general as others said
