It was the fact Kyle Knew the girl cosplaying Bellatrix from the GoT group already had a run in with Laura aka Lolain progress. But wanted to stir shit further by copying the photo Laura did as Bellatrix and then didn't bother to credit until Noctis called him out on it, to which he admitted to copying.

We missed a few trains on the way there and arrived a bit after it had started, and that literally messed up all chances of finding them.

I tried calling the girl whom arranged it - no luck.
Posted in the Grey Wardens group, got directions to where they were supposed to be - No luck.
Met two people who had either been to or were going to it - No luck there either.

So after a 2 hour search on ALL pre-listed locations and rumored ones we gave up and went back into town to the hotel.

Then we were told AFTERWARDS that they'd moved locations all togheter due to other meet-ups. Which I can understand, but why not write about it somewhere?

I think with the rules about photography at mcm everyone will move more to videos. So to the anon above saying theres no good photos, it's not the photographers fault they cant use anything to be creative and dont give me the bs of you dont need anything. Try going to a studio and dont use any extra light source/modifiers, see how shit and flat looking it will be.

No external lights or stands allowed, even if held by someone else. So clearly it was a complaint from one of the booth people at mcm. Yeah the wank stain that keeps adertsing in the expo photographers group whenever a cosplayer wants shoots, but doesnt mention the fact they charge and people don't give two shits about their booth.

Not sure their booth name, but the guy who runs it keeps posting every fucking day running up to mcm the hall number and just doesnt get the hint by the lack of interest cosplayers are not interested in them, and even more so now because what they did. They think the togs doing it for free are taking their business. The truth is, there is no money to be had in a shitty photobooth especially the price mcm wants for the space.

That's Cosplay Portrait. Pretty sure they make most of their business off families or people with awful cosplays that are desperate for pictures. People don't want to pay for unedited photos against a white background and a big ugly watermark in the corner.

Those guys mostly piss me off because if they put in even the most basic level of effort their pictures would be way better and they would be providing a real service. Fact is they bought a studio-in-a-box kit from Amazon, set it up in the most brainless way possible probably copied from the picture on the front of the packaging and they blow out everything because no shadows and a histogram clipping to the right is how pros do it right guys?

Them twisting MCM's arm to enforce the no lights rule has basically killed any hope of con floor photography ever being anything more than phone snapshots. It's fucking gross that they get the monopoly on photography just because they bought a £500 prepackaged beginner lighting kit.

Honestly Cosplay Portrait were alright a few years ago when I was a noob and just wanted one non-selfie that my parents didn't take. But now? They used to have a massive queue around their booth but now everyone knows a tog can get a better photo on the floor for free. Does anyone remember that booth they had at LFCC a few years back, they had like a misty forest set up? If they brought in a company that had say 4 sets, and gave them a big enough space, they'd make an absolute killing. If they insist on doing this shit.

Hence why they think the togs doing it for free are taking their money. Just they haven't improved, just as cosplayers improve their skill so do the photographers (or so they should). They don't move with the times while all the togs doing hobby shoots are getting better and they will find ways to take nice pictures even with the silly mcm rules. Infact i've already seen quite a few togs ignoring the mcm rules and some were even setup in the carpark and at the eastern exit on the floor up. They never got stopped by security throughout the event.
