Would anyone be willing to participate in a /cgl/ secret santa this year, I know a few other boards are doing it? Maybe something with a fixed price point, including maybe a free/card bracket like /a/ does? That way people can still send others cute art or stationary without spending much money. Thoughts?

Probably a dumb question, but since I'm not sure if I have buyers/sellers feedback on any sites, does that essentially disqualify me from participating? I completely get the concern if someone has no feedback anywhere, which is why I'm asking.

This is tricky. I think it's okay if you're sending cards, but for the safety of other anons, I don't think this would extend to the other brackets. If anyone has a suggestion that would bypass this issue, because I know a few people won't have feedback links, then please speak up.

At least in the US, they will still deliever your mail if you use an initial for your first name. But I used a completly fake but plausible name before on secret santa, too, and it worked.

That kind of defeats the purpose of it being a secret, anon. I won't be sending you their email. Just their general interests, name, and address. If you would like to keep in touch with your partner, make a card and express your interest in hearing back from them, or something.

I think I derped while filling it out on my phone.. I'm happy to send small gifts* and cards to literally anyone, but I think I just hit like "Two $20-40 gifts, two cards." by accident.
Should I redo the form?

*I'm about to make a metric butt-tonne of resin brooches that I'd otherwise sell, but they're the perfect envelope size to fit in with cards.

I was thinking December 11th would be the final deadline for shipping. It gives people about a month to figure things out. I think this should be more than enough time.

I'll also be making a proof of shipment form for anons in the larger brackets. This way I'll kind of have an idea of who's being sketchy and screwing over their partners.

Yup! To quote myself from earlier in the thread, we've expanded the brackets to include both handmade and store bought goods for those who aren't incredibly crafty. You'll be paired according to your interests, location, and bracket.

i think it means you will give one big value, two medium, and three small value gifts. or that is what i assumed when i signed up for multiple brackets. my hope is to have multiple partners and cards, and set up a little seagull tree and do an unwrapping video.

Thank goodness I remembered. Ended up writing down how many gifts for each price range I signed up for just in case I really do forget before it's over with so I can go ahead and start buying stuff.

Santa's helper here, sorry don't have access to email at the moment. For the mutiple gift section, the rows with the numbers and price brackets as columns.
Leta say for example you want to send 2 $10 gifts and 1 $20 gift.

Bubble fill in row 1 column $10. Fill out roll 2 column $10. Fill out row 3 column $20.

Maybe you should put on the application that explanation? Because I know I filled out mine thinking "Well I want to send gifts to three people" and filled out 1 - $20 and 2 - $10 thinking it meant I'd send one $20 gift and then two $10 gifts, each to a different person.

Don't do a re-submission. It seems like I was the one who misinterpreted that section. The anon helping me wrote it. On the form, it now clarifies that: For example, you want to send 1 $5-10 gift, and 2 $20-40 gifts. Bubble in row 1 column $5-10, row 2 column $20-40, and row 3 column $20-40. Leave blank if you don't want to send a gift.

That should mean most of you filled it in correctly.
