Is this really a thing?
I've heard stories but a lot of them sound like bullshit. Then again I also know and have seen first hand one of these happen at least once.

So, any of you have any stories and/or opinions about this kind of thing?

Its no different than hooking up with anyone anywhere, except you already have some common ground to work on.

I met up with someone from /cgl/ and we had chemistry. We went back to my room, had a great time, and still talk on facebook. Might even do it again at the same con next month.

TL:DR A hook up at a con is no different than one at a party or concert. Except maybe for wearing cosplay or brand.

Oh, no. I'd take it into serious consideration. Its something I would have to look into and weigh against other options but I wouldn't flat out "whine" that its wrong. If I had some grand vision of the perfect fabric to use I wouldn't be taking the time to learn from others.

I'm working on a Nissa Revane costume, but the fabrics I'm using won't exactly work for Jace. My cape is raw silk that I dyed green. It has texture and a nice hand and it's lined with silk crepe de chine so it's still light and finished without a turned hem. I used lambskin leather and goat suede for my top which isn't necessary for Jace. My skirt is linen which I would suggest against for Hace since his outfit has more need for movement. I went with natural fiber contents such as silk and linen. For Jace if you went with a cotton bottom weight for his outfit it would look sharp and clean.

Sounds like it'd be quite the nice costume. And thank you. I had actually considered playing with linen a bit so knowing that I might want to steer clear of it in favor of the cotton bottom weight for this is very helpful.

This is a bit more cringe than horror, but I wanted to post it. A couple of years back, myself and a couple of friends got invited to a birthday party of a fellow cosplayer, so everyone decided we’d dress up for the lels. One friend (3rd friend) asked if she could invite a couple of girls she knew at her college (we were all living in different places), so both we and the host agreed assuming they’d be like-minded people. We chose to go as a Marvel group and this was all fine and dandy until the day we got to the party. These two girls were standard basic bitch types, one was wearing a store bought *Wonder Woman* costume and the other didn’t even bother dressing up at all. They spent most of the evening sitting in the corner of the kitchen glaring at everyone and bitching about how shit the party was. The most embarrassing part was that that 3rd friend who invited them was telling all the other attendees they were with us. Someone came to us and claimed that he tried to talk to them and they told him it was like a kiddy party. The two of us ended up leaving early because it becoming too painful and didn’t see 3rd friend again for the rest of the Summer. When we did end up speaking to her again, so gave us some shit about how we didn’t make the bitches welcome and almost fell out with us over it.

My girlfriend has been cosplaying for a while and well she would like me to cosplay Yato from Noragami . Plus she wants to cosplay Hiyori from Noragami. I wouldn't mind doing it just I don't really now what to do make his clothes so is there any tips how to start a cosplay?

You'll need his tracksuit, which is pretty simple so you could look for it online, if you don't want to sew. Wig, scarf and boots should be easy to find too. But why don't you search for those things together with your girlfriend and more important, why not asking in the help thread?
