Hey anon I've been doing theater for years and I'm getting my degree in theater arts. I've been wanting to audition for some voice acting roles for Funimation and a few others but I've been told multiple times that studios won't give roles to people who are active in the cosplay community. Does anyone have any experience here? It sounds like a big sack of crap to me, but the acting business can be weird.

Voice actors will sometimes cosplay their characters but they didn't start out that way. All have acting backgrounds.

Actively aspiring VA gull here The anons talking about recording demos are well intentioned but judging by how you're seeking advice on 4chan and your overall lack of knowledge of the VA industry you probably are not demo ready yet, and you seriously should NOT try to record and compile your own demo Get a private VA teacher or go to a studio and take group classes, if there aren't any in your area there are a ton of resources online for aspiring voice actors. It is not the kind of industry you should just dive into. Good luck, anon!

>>8685274 also, 'voice work' is a broad subject. not just animes, you've got voices in commercials and low budget vidya games and all sorts of garbage that needs doing to help ends meet. spaghetti with red sauce with chopped basil.

If you have a naturally pleasing voice, I would also look at audiobooks!

Keep in mind that you only have one chance to make a first impression and if you show up to an audition in cosplay and acting like a total weeaboo fan girl you will be guaranteed to be put on a shit list. These people are running a business and want to work with people who can act in a professional manner. And they don't care how big a fan you are if you can't contribute anything worthwhile to the project.

This girl was "cosplaying" as an Indian women. And then went on to say that India is like an anime because it's in Asia and is totally ok to cosplay as them.

Congrats you found the literal retard of your con, which btw looks like a shithole from that pic alone if that's supposed to be an area where guests are allowed in.

Had a three-way at the executive clubroom of the Sheraton at this year's Otakon. I think we were caught by the security camera because security was beefed up the next day.

Let's discuss:
> Which characters benefit the most from having a prop with them, and which props? > What is your preferred way of greying up?

CALLING ALL VOCALOID FANS! I pine for you! I miss the days of new PVs every week and thousands of module outfits! Can we have a thread? Maybe post any new designs you've seen and want to cosplay? Or just post the best Vocaloid cosplays you saw over the years?

i don't come on /cgl/ much, is it the norm to photoshop cosplay pics so much? they look like dolls or something, and like wtf is with this girl's armpit

>>8692698 calne ca isn't a vocaloid
she's a derivative made by adjusting the setting on MIKU'S voicebank
please do your research before embarrassing yourself like a 12 year old who just discovered vocaloid and thinks of them as anything but software

Hey /cgl/, Would anyone be willing to participate in a /cgl/ secret santa this year, I know a few other boards are doing it? Maybe something with a fixed price point, including maybe a free/card bracket like /a/ does? That way people can still send others cute art or stationary without spending much money. Thoughts?

Don't do a re-submission. It seems like I was the one who misinterpreted that section. The anon helping me wrote it. On the form, it now clarifies that: For example, you want to send 1 $5-10 gift, and 2 $20-40 gifts. Bubble in row 1 column $5-10, row 2 column $20-40, and row 3 column $20-40. Leave blank if you don't want to send a gift. That should mean most of you filled it in correctly.

>>8692812 If we filled it out incorrectly, what should we do in order to get it fixed? Just let you know which submission is ours and what we need fixed on the gift section?
