How would you slow cook a 20 pound piece of top sound steak in an oven? I have this huge thing I gotta make for a lot of people.
Anonymous
Look up Alton Brown's book I'm just here for the food. It'll break down the basics of roasting. Honestly you should just break down the roast and make other stuff with it. So if you fuck up one, not all is lost. Make a stew, or slow cook and shred for tacos.

>>7025879 Man, fuck that guy and his endless tiny bowls. Roasting a beef is the proudest tradition Western culture has to offer and OP should rise to this opportunity. 10,000 restaurants do this exact shit every Saturday night for the Sunday roast crowd, there is no reason OP can't pull it off at home

It'd be glorious if there was some delicious smoke flavor in the meat.

Funny enough, had my first chicken sandwich from them today and thought it was pretty good. A little high priced but it was like I was actually eating chicken and not chicken paste. 7/10 would buy again.

McChicken doesn't even come close to Chick Fil A. Mcdonalds doesn't even use actual cuts of meat in anything at all. The reason Chick Fil a food is always different shapes and sizes and moist and tender is because it's actually unprocessed real meat cut off a dead chicken. It isn't ground up parts and placed in a few random shaped molds and pressed into there against nature and cooked. If you think that nasty ass (although good at times when you have a craving) McChicken has anything on actual whole chicken meat, you have an issue. Either that or your restaurant has an issue and they suck dick, which we all know Chick Fil A is against that (well, used to be) sooo..yeah.

Anyone else here hate turkey? I think it's too easy to dry it out and even when it's juicy, it just isn't very good. This year for Thanksgiving I'm thinking of doing quail or pheasant instead.
Anonymous
(Not native English here.) Turkey means both female and male bird, if I got this right. For Christmas (no thanksgiving in Yurup), the usual bird is a turkey hen. From TV shows featuring a ridiculously large prop in Thanksgiving specials, I assume Muricans eat the male, but I wanted confirmation. If Malcom in the Middle and Friends depict reality, I suggest you try turkey hen. I imagine it's easier to cook a smaller roast (or two or 3, depending on family size), and taste might be better. Good alternative to duck, goose, quail, pigeon, etc.

>>7024708 Generally in the US you can't chose a Tom or hen; they are sold/ butchered at the same weight with no notation on what sex they were on the package.

What's with all the hate towards Pizza Hut? In my opinion they are undoubtedly the best tasting pizza chain on the market. I understand they can make it overtly greasy, but that's something I can look past when it tastes so good. Stuffed crust cheese pizza is god tier for me. What's your opinion on Pizza Hut /g/?

>>7020815 I would rather have no pizza than Pizza Hut. That shit is a study in overkill - pile on more of everything in hopes of masking the shit quality ingredients. This kind of thinking is why I avoid chain restaurants in general.
But it is kind of a marvel that they manage to make pizza that's too bready, too greasy, too cheesy and too loaded down with toppings all at the same time. I won't deny it's impressive, I just don't ever want to eat that shit.

>>7021263 Bullshit. We washed out dishes every night. It wasn't a big deal though. Working at mcdonalds was way more stressful (without good pay) because of all the grease and they wanted everything so spic and span.

We even put the washed pans back through the oven to make sure they are properly dried.

Sup co/ck/s. I made risotto for the first time and messed up very badly. The texture/creaminess is good (I think) but I made 2 errors. First, I should've used low sodium chicken broth since it turned out a tiny bit too salty for me. Second, I made a fatal error, I used too much butter to the point where I could only have a few bites then had to stop... Next time I should actually taste it BEFORE I add in the butter to finish. Other than that, I think it was a good first attempt. Will be making it again tomorrow.
