>>7002344>how come when I add cinnamon to my oats, I can't taste it>it smells good>do I just need to dump the entire container in?Try not stirring in oatmeal flavoring. But keeping it like a crust on top of the bowl. Like with yogurt, mixing something in completely requires you to use more.
Top your oatmeal with a tablespoon of brown sugar (more flavorful sugar), and the cinnamon. Raw sugar is coarse and it also doesn't dissolve right way either. Honey swirl works too. Let it get a little warmed. Then, you should cut down with your spoon getting a little topping with each bite.
Also, are you using quality cassia or ceylon cinnamon? Or some cheap fake-cinnamon?. Research into that, and make sure it's fresh too. I've enjoyed the "roasted" cinnamon that Spice Islands has put out, as well as their cinnamon "grinder" which is fun to use. The roasted has got a bit of roasted chili kind of oompf to it. If you're a huge cinnamon lover might want to buy something premium, maybe even from Penzeys online.
Also, if your palate isn't that crazy good, use more or consider if you wouldn't prefer something like pumpkin pie spice (blend) or apple pie spice as your oatmeal topping. Having a little allspice, ginger, clove, nutmeg in there to, might up your feeling that you've got a nice spicey, aromatic sweet flavor going on.
