mom has bone fractures and arthritis, but still works. she comes home screaming in pain.

I'm depressed because cooking is the only thing I'm good at and the only thing I actually still like to do. I've grown out of video games and mass media, I don't even listen to music anymore. Only cooking and baking give me a sense of accomplishment. I started college two months ago and I hate it. I spend about 70% of the time I have left after studying on cooking or eating, typically 1-2 hours a day during the week and 4-8 hours a day during weekends.

Yet I'll never do what I love professionally. All that I've heard about being a professional chef just turns me off: hard work for shit pay, physically somewhat taxing, and most likely you'll get to work in some shitty restaurant mostly making shitty pizzas from as cheap as possible ingredients or just heating pre-made foods because its cheaper than making anything locally and the plebs can't tell the difference. Also the field is crowded because being a foodie is the in thing right now and the economy in my country is spiraling down with no end in sight so restaurants are closing left and right.

Baking isn't any better. Everyone wants to be that guy who gets to work in a small bakery and make a loaf of bread from start to finish with a sourdough that he made himself and then bake it in a wood fired brick oven, but most likely you'll end up working in a big ass fucking bread factory with 50 other soulless wage slaves like you, working on your assigned position for 8 hours a day, having essentially been reduced to a part of the machinery. On top of that you can add the fact that I'm your typical 4chan autist who can barely stand being around fellow human beings for more than five minutes at a time.

My biggest dream is to be some housewife who gets to spend the whole day home cooking for his husband. Too bad I'm male and heterosexual. And a virgin. And I hate women.

I want to learn how to cook, I spend like over $300 on eating outside because the best I can do is a fried egg + toast. I guess it does make me a bit depressed the fast food jews are getting my shekels. If I could cook I bet I could reduce my food budged to $200 at least.

I can cook but I went to McDonald's today and ordered a Fillet O Fich sandwich and an order of Chicken McNuggets. I was listening to an audio book while eating my meal in the parking lot and the girl who was working at the window came outside for a smoke break and saw me sitting in my car. She walked over and asked me why I didn't eat inside the restaurant. I tried to ignore but she was persistant. I tild her I was fine and she went away, but really, why should I have to explanation myself to a McDonald's employee? Just because she has tits? Too bad I;m make and ans a heterosexual. I'm living on the GI bill while I go to school, my cooking skills have really helped me honestly. My grocery bill is less than $150 monthly, and I'm making pot roast, homemade chicken salad, mexican and mediterranean/middle eastern food.

I'm depressed because I don't have any friends, I haven't made a friend in about 8 years now and that one moved away about 4 years ago.

3 years ago I decided to quit my job and start traveling, in part to try and experience the different cultures and cuisines around the world. Unfortunately because of some events I'm still here and now I hate my job but at the same time can't leave until next year. Cooking and riding my motorbike are the only two things I like in my life these days.

I live apart (1000 miles) from my almost 4 year boyfriend. Neither of us have the cash to move in together quite yet. He's the only one I ever want to cook for. If I'm alone at home I'd rather just not eat. I work a dead end job but at least my parents love me enough to maximize my savings potential by not making me pay rent or for my medical stuff.
My medical cost comes to about $300 a month.

A lot of the lower class Americans either kick their kids out at 18 or make them pay rent. Family ties are very different on this side of the Atlantic. A lot of people here have very strained ties with their family and don't see them at all as where in Europe most families try to work shit out in one way or another. Also, from what I've seen of my friends here, outside of the immediate family you consider everyone to be relatives and usually don't have as close ties to them as families in Europe do.
