Anyone here lived in an apartment or room with no kitchen? What are some essential things I should get. I have a small fridge, microwave and an electric kettle. I was thinking of getting a rice cooker or crock pot.

I have one of these, and its pretty nice. Doubles as a crock pot. Only problem is the smallest model is 8 cups, but I have no problems cooking a single cup of rice in it.

In college, I also used an electric griddle. Pretty cheap, and mine had a flat griddle plate and a grill plate I could swap in and out.

I've hit tough times and I live in a small place with no kitchen.
I have a microwave, kettle, small fridge, and a mini oven. I can't use the microwave and the mini oven at the same time because of the plug situation but I get by.

6 slice toaster oven. for $40 you got a fully functional oven that can fit a small chicken/small roast. good for cooking frozen foods like 12" pizza, baking, cooking breakfast sausages/bacon, etc.

damn, how are you going to clean your pots and pans? i guess you could use paper plates and what not. One of those single or dual electric burners are essentially portable stove tops if you wanted to cook with a skillet or something.

No job or employment. I sold my car and had money saved up. This is by far the cheapest option since I don't pay electricity or internet. I just need my savings to last as long as I can and then probably throw my self off a bridge.

Are meal plans really worth it? I'm gonna be going to grad school next year and I kinda hoped to be able to cook and save some money, but I dont know if that's viable when living with roomates on without a proper kitchen.
