Best breakfast I ever had was in hawaii. Standard bacon eggs toast plus asian stuff like pork buns & rice & seaweed salad.
Then for a quick fix they had something called the surfer breakfast meant to fill you up so you could stay out in the waves all day.
It was a bed of rice with either a burger patty or seared tuna & 2 eggs on top

Also, don't confuse the fat hillbillies in Georgia and Alabama with real, honest to God Southerners from Tennessee, Virginia, etc.

Das Frühstück . . . German breakfast!

I learned to really love this at my grandparents as a kid. You'll generally get the following:

A soft boiled egg (in an egg cup)
Various cheeses (both hard and soft)
A selection of cured/cold cut meats and sausages
Fresh fruit
Several types of breads and rolls
Some spreads like jam and fresh cream

It's set out buffet style on platters and you help yourself. Unlike American breakfast there's very little that's sweet. And its a very relaxed meal with lots of chatting and reading the paper/etc as you continually munch.
