So /ck/ what is your list of toptier comfy meals for fall/winter. For me probably

1. pot roast
2. french onion soup
3. braised short ribs and mashed potatoes

pretty much any braised type dish is great in my book

Random foods that I find comfy as fuck:

- Carbonara.

- Chicken Noodle Soup.

- Fried chicken.

- Indian-style chicken stir fry with curry, cayenne, onions, green peppers, served with rice on the side.

- Chocolate chip cookies (the large, chewy kind like you get in restaurants, not the Chips Ahoy! Style).

- Baked potatoes with butter, salt, sour cream (also improved by bacon bits but I try to avoid the too many extra calories so I don't usually include them).

- Sausage and mashed potatoes (what the british call "bangers and mash.")

- Samosas.

- Certain preparations of chili and goulash can be described as comfy.

- Macaroni And Cheese (the kind with a layer of melted cheese on top not KD-style).

French onion "soup-stew". Just add actual beef into a french onion soup recipe, cook in a crock pot. Makes the flavors develop insanely well, and the beef just makes it even more rich. Seriously delicious.

Also, pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.
