They arent fancy, but they are sturdy and last a long time. And very good value for money. Once you work out what you like and dont like you can go for something more expensive.
You need a chef knife (about 8-10 inches), a paring knife, possibly a bread/meat knife and a steel. There are lots of other things that are nice to have, and you'll probably buy them in time, but that is the essentials imo.
