Reducing food waste

No.7014706 ViewReplyReportDelete
For financial reasons, I'm trying to work on my issue of wasting food, goddammit. I have so much food that goes bad. Especially veggies. But other things too. I forget I have them.
I'm bad about buying veggies and any other foods randomly with no real plan, and some of it ends up going to waste.
Anyone have tips on how to cut down on this shit? My freezer and fridge are PACKED to the max. But it always feels like there's nothing to eat because I'm a spoiled-ass first worlder.
I'm really bad about buying something on sale just because it's a "good deal", ala the 99 cent giant fucking spaghetti squash that's been sitting in my kitchen for 2 weeks that I need to use but not fucking idea what to do with.
Anyone got tips besides "just eat what you got"...cause no shit....maybe making meal plans and buying accordingly? Any kind of phone app to keep track of the food I have and when they expire? Is there something like that?
