I don't think I've ever posted here
I'm looking for a good pork bun recipe. I've tried a few that were highly rated, but I haven't liked any of them.
Trader joe's pork buns are great, but I need a recipe because I want to make them at home

If that doesn't work, buy some cha siu from a chinese bbq place, dice it, and use that for filling.

What did you not like about it? If it was the meat, try getting the cha siu from a chinese bbq, if it was the dough then I can't help you because I'm shit with doughs

Yeah, it was the filling that was the problem. The dough was fine
I was hoping to make it all at home, because if I'm buying something anyway, I might as well just get the trader joe's

Most restaurants will glaze the pork in maltose syrup, which makes the outside more caramely and sweet.

Try making the recipe with pork from a chinese bbq, it should be sweeter.
