Well, you're well and free to have whatever you like for Thanksgiving, but I wouldn't trade my turkey for anything. There's very simple ways to make sure your turkey is flavorful and juicy.
I rotisserie my turkey, but I realize not everyone can do that. Doesn't matter, even if you roast a turkey in the oven, you can still make it come out tender, flavorful, and juicy.
I always start out by buying a fresh turkey, not frozen. Then, the day before cooking, I make compound butter using fresh herbs, salt, pepper, and spices, and rub it all over the turkey, especially under the skin on the breast. Let it sit overnight in the fridge. The next day, I make a basting sauce of clarified butter, champagne or white wine (depending on what I have) herbs, pepper, a little salt, and some other spices, and I baste the turkey every 20-30 minutes while it rotisseries.
Also, if you can find an electric turkey roaster, those make excellent turkeys and also free up your oven for other things. You can follow the same directions I posted for that or even oven roasting. A piece of cheesecloth dipped in the basting mixture and placed over the breast for the first couple hours of roasting helps retain juiciness as well. Be sure to soak the cheesecloth again as you baste.
