>>77096452It's possible to praise the individual artists but still think Disney as a "safe family fun" corporate entity are pretty shitty.
And really, I don't think not knowing creators is the issue here. People know who people historically involved with Disney products like Chris Sanders, Don Rosa, Milt Kahl etc are. "Tezuka copied The Disney Style" is just a meme from "anime scholar" books written by people who hate their jobs so it's the first thing everyone says even though it's disrespectful towards both the huge variety of the artistic output published under the name of the Disney corporation and the good taste Tezuka had for being visually influenced by a ton of things from live-action cinema to Bambi to 30s Popeye and putting it all together into a very personal and fun style. It wouldn't be too complicated to say something like "Tezuka got inspired by Bambi's eyes but used them in a cartoony style inspired by Carl Barks' duck comics" but the "Disney style" thing is a misconception that hugely snowballed.
I can't think of any noteworthy Tezuka cats off the top of my head sorry
