You are an idiot. The entire reason the Autobots and Decepticons were fighting in the first place is because of alt-mode discrimination. So transformation is absolutely important in IDW.

Okay, combing bits of lore...

Nucleon is a form of extremely powerful Energon. Action Masters have undergone a process (maybe mechanical, maybe mutation by the Nucleon itself) turning their transcogs into an engine that turns raw Energon into more Nucleon.

I think Red Energon and Nucleon may be similar substances, if not different names for the same thing.

Hasbro had creative control, so Budianski was fairly restricted in what he could do. I.e. introducing X new characters every issue, keeping the stories simple and short so it was accessible for younger readers etc. The UK material was basically just filler; Furman's only real restriction was he couldn't do anything that interferes with the US material.

The few times he went on a limb and used characters he thought was removed from the US fiction also ended up backfiring as he then had to make up convoluted explanations to make the UK and US material gel together.
Megatron actually being a clone made by Straxus in most of the UK stories was a prime example, since Megs was used freely in the UK while he was MIA for a prolonged period in the US. Megatron popped back up out of the blue in the US one issue, so Furman had to scramble to make the stories work together. Thus UK one was a fake (who thought he was the real Megatron) all along.

The Titans Return toyline wouldn't dare include a Scorponok toy, and the tie-in event will probably bring back Scorponok to Cybertron (or Earth), with explanations that he was working off of old technology much like Jhiaxus was.

Things Titans Retrun could do 'right' (as in I just want this to happen because I am an IDW sperglord):

Have the EDC start the diaclone project, bringing back the old Machination Headmaster Countachs.

Then, since Optimus is talking about how he wants to protect Earth from being taken over by alien invaders (by taking it over in an alien invasion), we can always bring in the Waruder. A perfect example of the kind of organic threat Megatron was concerned about during the early stages of the war.

Aaactually no. We never saw him die. The artist of his "death" specifically mentioned he's not dead when we see him last, and the script has the possibility for it to go either way.

For all we know, Prowl recovered him, stuck him in a cell for millions of years, while extracting any kind of usable information from him.
