There was reasons for her feel sad but she was not allowing that come out resulting in all the shit like the stuck idea or the controls becoming irresponsible. If Sadness didn't return the controls would stay stuck with Joy being unable to stop Riley from fleeing home.
>>77093833As someone with predisposition to depression depression means that you only feel like shit and like if you are empty or dead inside. It is far beyond sadness, at certain point you become unable even to cry, you just don't care if you are gonna die and in fact you feel like you would be better dead anyway.
I feel fine now but I have been near suicide in the past.
Also being able to cry again and actually feeling sad and not just dead was one of the phases of the recovery.
