>>76937010Well seeing his friendship with Del Toro, he's had some practice. There's a book somewhere in my closet about Del Toro's house that has a story written by Ron about how they met and the whole thing is fantastic. There's even a reference to this story in Book of Life.
When Ron was going to work on his first movie with Del Toro he tried rehearsing all his lines in spanish in one night, put his heart and soul into it and when he came back to Del Toro with the performance, Totoro said "Nah, that sucks, your spanish sucks, you sound like an idiot." And Ron was like "Shit what we gonna do?" And Del Taco was like "Iunno! Let's eat!" and thus "Let's eat!" became his go to answer for life's problems. Hence the mariachi randomly saying "Let's eat!" when they fail to get the girl. It was so distinct, I remember having a bit of nerd trivia satisfaction when that part came up.
